United Weld Holdings has an exciting opportunity available for an IT Technician to be an integral part of our IT team at BendTec in Duluth, MN.  WeH take pride in our quality of work and have a goal of building our workforce with the most talented employees.  

The IT Technician provides onsite Level 1 and Level 2 technical support.  This position is responsible for maintaining end-user computing devices, resolving hardware and software issues, supporting network connected equipment, and ensuring employees can effectively utilize technology to support daily operations. 

This is a hands-on, customer-focused role that requires a strong technical foundation, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  The IT Technician serves as the primary onsite IT resource while collaborating with the corporate IT team to support enterprise systems and initiatives.  This position works onsite from Monday through Friday with occasional weekend support and travel.   

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, kiosks, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and peripheral equipment.
• Respond to and resolve user support request through the Helpdesk ticketing system in a timely and professional manner.
• Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations and related hardware.
• Perform workstation setup, software installation, imaging, hardware upgrades, and equipment replacement.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and other applications.
• Troubleshoot user account issues, including password resets, access requests, and authentication problems.
• Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities through the Helpdesk ticketing system.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local network equipment, including switches, wireless access points, cabling, building access control, and security cameras.
• Support conference room technology, audiovisual equipment, and meeting spaces.
• Coordinate hardware repairs, warranty service and equipment lifecycle management.
• Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets, including computers, monitors, mobile devices, and accessories.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including computers, monitors, mobile devices, and accessories.  Train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
• Escalate complex technical issues to corporate IT staff or third-party vendors when appropriate.
• Participate in IT infrastructure projects, technology deployments, and facility expansions as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure IT work environment while following company safety policies.
• Provide occasional after-hours and weekend support for maintenance activities, upgrades, or emergency incidents.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education: 

• Associates Degree (2-year college or technical school); Preferred.

Experience: 

• 3+ years of IT support experience providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support.

Computer Skills: 

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience supporting Windows Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANS, and wireless networking.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience supporting manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial environments.
• Experience with remote support tools and IT service management platforms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple support requests.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel occasionally between company facilities.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent.
