Position Summary: Piping Material Engineer for Abu Dhabi, UAE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Create and/or develop Piping Material Specification / Goby, review client documents, specifications, requirements and its applicable international codes and standards.

• Manage multiple projects.

• Thorough understanding of client project scope and specifications.

• Provide a team of drafters, checks and other with all information necessary to process pipe spool fabrication drawings for multiple fabrication facilities.

• Communicate and resolve with client any issues pertaining to questions/conflicts regarding scope, specifications, and client drawings.

• Thorough understanding of shop methods using the fabrication of pipe spools.

• Familiar with and utilize department standards, procedures, and guidelines.

• Assist Engineering Co-Ordinator / Team leader for their technical difficulties.

• Co-ordinate with Project Interface Engineer for modifications, priority issuance of spool drawings, missing data from Client.

• Able to demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various teams, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions. 

• Review the client RFQ and Epic Proposals from beginning to end.

• Attends all the company-organized training courses when invited. 

• Be aware of and obey the Company Health, Safety and Environmental, and Quality rules & perform the activities.

Competency Statement(s)

• Good technical knowledge on mechanical / piping material engineering.
• Good technical knowledge in piping engineering.
• Well conversant with oil and gas engineering practices and in particular pipe fabrication technology.
• Good time management skills.
• Familiarity with codes and standards of ASTM, ASME, and PFI.
• Familiarity with various metallurgies.
• Understanding of non-destructive examination methods, heat treatments, paint, and welding procedures.
• Should possess general knowledge of the theory, content and application of statutory codes and guidelines  related to Epic Piping operations.
• Proactive approach, confidence, and desire to tackle challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong oral and written English communication skills

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Academic Education to BS Level Minimum in Engineering and Membership of an appropriate professional engineering body is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 Years in Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years in Piping Material Engineering. 
• Minimum of 2 years in Middle East preferably UAE

Other Requirements:

Familiar with various metallurgies.
